GLYCERIN Glycerin is a common name for Glycerol. This colorless, odorless, viscous liquid is widely used in pharmaceutical formulations. It is a sugar alcohol, and is sweet-tasting and non toxic. Glycerol has three hydrophilic alcoholic hydroxyl groups that are responsible for its solubility in water and its hygroscopic nature. It is a central component of lipids. Glycerol is used in medical and pharmaceutical and personal care preparations, mainly as a means of improving smoothness, providing lubrication and as humectants. It is found in cough syrups, elixirs and expectorants, toothpaste, mouthwashes, skin care products, shaving cream, hair care products, and soaps. MSM Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM or dimethylsulfone) is an organosulfur compound. This colourless solid features the sulfone functional group and is considered a relatively inert chemical. It occurs naturally in some primitive plants and is present in small amounts in many foods and beverages and it is sold as a dietary supplement. Because of its polarity and thermal stability, MSM is used industrially as a solvent for both inorganic and organic substances. SWEET ORANGE OIL Sweet orange oil is by pressing the peel. It is used as flavouring of food and drink and for its fragrance in perfume and aromatherapy. It is also an efficient cleaning agent which is promoted as being environmentally friendly and preferable to petroleum distillates.
